The Policies area in Schoolaspect is great for many reasons. It allows you to ensure Policies are kept up to date and consistent in appearance. But, did you also know there are some handy features which allow you to manage policies for staff that don’t typically use Schoolaspect such as your midday or site staff.
Firstly, Schoolaspect allows you to sign a policy on their behalf.
- Go to Policies > Manage Policies and click on the pencil icon for the appropriate policy.
- In the Current Policy Document section, click on the pencil icon and go to the Policy has been read by section.
- Tick each applicable staff member, then Save (bottom right of window). The percentage of staff that have read the policy will be automatically updated.
Secondly, I hear you ask… ‘How do I know who I’ve signed on behalf of?’. Our handy audit trail allows us to quickly view this.
- Go to Policies > Policy Reports > Report Type > Who has read policies
- In Policies box select policy/policies you wish to view this information for e.g., Attendance Policy
- Click Download Report
Finally, for staff unable to sign digitally, you can ask them to sign a paper list. There’s no need for you to produce this. You can download one for each policy in Schoolaspect so it will only include the relevant staff.
- Go to Policies > Policy Reports > Report Type > Policy read signatures
- In Policies box select policy/policies you wish to view this information for e.g. Attendance Policy
- Click Download Report
Check out the interactive Policies manual in the Policy of Schoolaspect for further ideas. You can also read more about how you can embed Policies in your school website – this is a great timesaver as when they are published, as a new policy or as an updated one, the most recent version will appear live automatically on your website. Did you know you can also use our Policy Exchange to share your policies with other schools or ‘borrow’ policies if you need some inspiration.
